Spectators
One of the most important things to know about spectating Rally Trinidad is that you must get there early. The TTRC wishes to advise all spectators that getting to the stage at least 45 minutes prior to the start of any event is a must. Some of the stages unfortunately have limited access points so if you are late, you may not be able to access a viewing location along the course until the end of a stage or at the lunch break. Be sure to check the Rally Stage Directory and Google Maps. Also, you may expect some narrow roads and some traffic on the morning of the Rally. Please be courteous to other spectators, officials, competitors and crew.
Tips for enjoying the Rally:
- Walk with your drinks and food – Folks, we are 'in de bush', there is NO food court on the stage. There are often bars nearby for ice and refreshments but you are advised to walk with your coolers packed and ready to go.
- Carpool - Often the parking areas are limited so carpool with your friends, you save space and the lime is always better with friends. Access to the spectator points more often than not may require a pickup or SUV.
- Obey the Marshals at ALL times - There will always be a TTRC marshal near spectator points and at all access roads. We ask that you follow their instructions at all times as they will be in radio communication with the rally officials and will know when it is safe to pass and where is safe for you to park
- Walk with supplies - Helpful items on the day are umbrellas (it will be hot!), sunscreen, chairs, bug spray, toilet paper, good music for your car stereo, torch light (for those late evening missions), garbage bags (please clean up after yourself).
- Designate a Driver - Use your wits and consider carefully, the breathalyzer is in effect and we strongly suggest that if you want to 'play yuh mas' while you spectate – DESIGNATE A DRIVER!
- Drive Safely - Please DO NOT ATTEMPT what you see on the day while leaving or at any other time. The Rally cars are prepared specifically to race and are well equipped to handle the bumps and rough terrain. The company pickup and your family station wagon are NOT, so if you’re interested in racing, come talk to us and we will get you in the driver's seat the right way. Remember, no one likes a 'show off'.
